The LMA voted on July 28, 2022 to enter into a lease with the Pontchartrain Beach Foundation:

Proposed Design for Pontchartrain Beach Site

Below is the proposal that the Pontchartrain Beach Foundation (PBF) presented to the Lakefront Management Authority (LMA). Please take the time to read through what they are proposing.

A public hearing was held on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. Many members of the public voiced their concerns to both the Lakefront Management Authority and the Pontchartrain Beach Foundation. The main concerns were noise, trash, security, and parking. The most affected neighborhood is Lake Oaks which sits directly across Lakeshore Drive from the eastern side of the property. Lake Terrace will also be affected because we have the streets to the west of the property that people use to access Lakeshore Drive to approach the property from the West. Nobody was against the project but everyone there wanted an ironclad lease.

Below is a list of concerns that were brought before the LMA and the PBF at the public hearing. This list is a work in progress.

On Thursday, July 28, 2022 the Lakefront Management Authority Board voted to enter into a lease agreement with the Pontchartrain Beach Foundation. The lease will be written by the LMA staff and will then have to go before the Legal Committee, the Commercial Real Estate Committee, and the Recreation and Subdivision Committee before it goes to the full board for approval. Thus giving the public at least 3 more opportunities to voice their opinions about the terms of the agreement.

Lake Terrace has requested that the PBF come and speak to the members of the LTPOA.
