Construction Update
Construction
Construction continues throughout the west side of the neighborhood. Following a meeting with Ace, the Department of Public Works (DPW) coordinator, we have the following updates for streets under construction:
- Sidewalk Crossovers: If your sidewalk was removed, a crossover should be placed for street access. One crossover may be shared between two houses.
- Right of Way & Driveway Tie-ins: The city's right of way extends 1.5 feet past the sidewalk into your yard. If your driveway is too steep and causes water to pool, the Construction Crew/DPW will ask you to sign a document allowing work on your property. If you do not sign, your driveway will not be tied into the street, leaving it without a curb or sidewalk and making it unusable.
- Property Drainage: Any drainage pipes running from your property to the street must be tied into the city's drainage system.
- Footlaps (Concrete between sidewalk and curb): Existing footlaps should be replaced. Construction crews are using older maps that may lack this information, but the city recorded video of the area before construction to verify prior placement.
- Trash Cleanup: Crews are required to clean up their trash daily.
- Garbage Collection Assistance: If you need help moving your garbage can to the end of the block that is accessible for Tuesday pickup due to construction, please place your can out and ask a worker for assistance before they leave on Monday (usually around 3:00 PM).
- Street Lights: All Star Electric is laying new lines for the streetlights, but Entergy has to tie them in so they may not be working at the moment.
- Cox & AT&T: DPW is aware of exposed Cox lines and incomplete AT&T Fiber installation. They will address this with both companies, though the work will follow the utility companies' schedules rather than the main construction timeline. They are aware of the lines that have been cut and repaired, etc...
Filming in Lake Terrace
Filming will be taking place at 6327 Cartier Drive on Thursday, August 27th. I have attached the flyer that the production will be distributing to the neighborhood. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. See Attached Flier.

Entergy Servitudes
A significant power outage occurred in the neighborhood on July 3rd due to a fire in a transformer building between New York St. and Allen Tousaint. The Fire Department and Entergy were able to quickly access the location and put out the fire. However, if the easement would have been blocked by a vehicle or other objects, this could have ended differently and potentially even spread to a neighboring home. Please remember that the utility easements in our neighborhood must remain clear of any objects. These spaces are not personal storage units for cars, trailers, boats, or lawn equipment. Entergy needs quick and safe access to these spaces.
