Crime Board Seat
As you know, the Lake Terrace Crime Prevention District is a vital cog in neighborhood safety. It’s compromised of a board of commissioners that addresses issues including, but not limited to, selection and compensation of the neighborhood’s mobile safety detail. A seat on the board is open; all interested in serving should email either Emmett Chapital; echapit@msn.com or Robert Drouant rdrouant@yahoo.com
Unauthorized Tree Plantings on Pratt Drive
Dear Lake Terrace Neighbors,
I am writing both as a resident of Lake Terrace and in my official capacity as Regional Director of the Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority–East to make you aware of an important matter concerning Pratt Drive.
It has come to our attention that approximately 40 trees were recently planted along Pratt Drive between Lakeshore Drive and L.C. Simon on Flood Protection Authority property. These plantings were unauthorized and installed without the required permit. Because they are unpermitted, they cannot remain in place.
Before the Authority proceeds with removal, we want to give any resident who may have planted the trees, or who may know who did, an opportunity to remove them voluntarily. We kindly request that the Neighborhood Association share this information with the community, either via email or through your social media groups.
If the trees are not removed by December 7th, the Flood Protection Authority will move forward with removing them.
As a reminder, any planting, construction, or modification on flood protection property requires a permit to ensure the integrity and safety of our system. This includes the planting of trees, shrubs, or any other vegetation.
Thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and continued commitment to keeping our neighborhood safe.
Respectfully,
L. Jeff Williams
