Beach or No Beach?

Tonight at the Lakefront Management Authority Board Meeting, the Board voted to end negotiations with the Pontchartrain Beach Foundation. All members but 1 voted in favor, and one abstained.

The LMA told us that they were at an impasse with the lease, but some of the commissioners spoke up and said that they heard both neighborhoods concerns on Saturday and therefore were in favor of ending the process.

For now the beach is a non-issue, but that does not mean another group won't come forth with a proposal in the future. We expressed that we want a seat at the table from day 1 when/if that happens.

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported both neighborhoods throughout the process.

The sun has set on the beach for now.
