Lake Oaks and Lake Terrace are asking the City of New Orleans for a zoning change from S-RS Suburban Single Family Residential to S-LRS2 Lake Vista and Lakeshore Single-Family Residential. We are asking for the change because Lake Vista and Lakeshore are automatically flagged in the city permitting system and cannot issue building permts without approval from the Lakeshore Managment Authority (LMA) first. This has always been the rule for the 4 neighborhoods under the LMA, however the system has NOT been working for Lake Oaks and Terrace. Therefore we started this process a year ago to make the change and now we have to hold a Neighborhood Participation Process meeting as the next step in the process.
